International sporting events have now become integral part of modern world. We have the Olympics, the biggest sporting event in the world, we have the commonwealth games .Then there is soccer world cup held every four years.
However, these sporting events do not necessarily the true spirit which is the driving force for all the nations and many people might have completely different views about these events. According to me, I really want to say that it has a lot of positive impacts than negative, because it plays in role of all people around the world about being host of international sporting event. In fact, it is more than just game, it includes several things, For example it creates new avenues of tourism for that country.
Ladies and gentlemen! Let’s see the example of The Beijing Olympic in 2008. It was seen by many as evidences of china’s economic might and its status as giant nation and a way to showcase economic growth to the west and to the world. I must say that it’s the best occasion for that country to present itself in a big way to people around the world: moreover, the sport can be a way of making a strong political point because of the intense media scrutiny that accompanies the games. Seoul in 1988 used the games to demonstrate South Korean’s economic and political power. And also there are some more advantages for example is to change people’s mind so that they can attract toward sports activities and start thinking to make sports as their careers.
On the other hand, there are some side effects and disadvantages. For instance, youngsters may indulge in football gambling, madly watching the sport without caring of their studies. Ladies and gentlemen! Hosting international sporting events can have some other negative impacts. For example hosting such a big event like Olympics may cost a heavy burden on taxpayers, because the government spent a heavy amount and has to pay much money for several types, such as construction cost, but security and so forth.
Moreover, these events do not leave a golden legacy behind them because the demands of the Olympic are very particular, 80,000 all – seated stadium, pools, horse, tracks, volleyball beach, and so on. Many of these stadiums may never be used again after the end events. It will also boost country’s tourism sector, establishing new standards of quality service, infrastructure organization and transportation system. Finally, what I want to say is the sports are for relationship not hatred, sports are meant to support and promote sense of brotherhood among nations and people at large. If the sports do not achieve it, then I think it’s a complete waste of money. That’s all, Thanks for your attention, and peace be upon you all .
